How screen size is calculated
A screen’s advertised size is the diagonal distance between two opposite corners of the display. It is not the width of the screen. To calculate the width and height, the calculator combines the diagonal measurement with the selected aspect ratio.
For a 16:9 screen, the calculation uses the proportions 16 units wide by 9 units high. Two screens with the same diagonal can therefore have different widths and heights when their aspect ratios differ.

Why a 65-inch screen is much larger than a 55-inch screen
Screen sizes are normally compared by diagonal length, but display area grows in two dimensions. A 65-inch 16:9 screen is about 18% wider and 18% taller than a 55-inch screen, resulting in approximately 40% more display area. The visual comparison above makes that difference easier to understand.
